Easy Homemade Rum Balls

Sometimes the hustle and bustle of everyday life wear us down. And in those moments having coffee with cake is just a therapeutic exercise you need to perform to bounce back. And here is the first easy dessert recipe idea for your “self-medication”.



INGREDIENTS

Crush the cookies in the blender, combine the crushed cookies & cacao powder in a medium size bowl. Add some sugar if you cookies are not sweet enough.


Warm up the milk in the microwave, add the butter in the glass and allow the butter to melt. Pour the milk-butter mixture in the bowl and stir to combine.


Add the liquor of your choice, we suggest adding 2 tbsp rum or whiskey. Add more if you want a really boozy dessert.


Fold in nuts, raisings or chocolate chips (optional). Put the mixture into the fridge for 15-20 minutes to set.


Once the mixture is cooled down, scoop and shape the cookie mixture into the balls. Roll them in shredded coconut, cookies crush or finely chopped nuts.


Put the rum balls in the fridge for a couple of hours before serving. You can also store the them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for several days.
